So we have finished another week here in the BKK and things are looking good. Last night we bridged the gap, and hung out with the other teachers from St. Gabes. Reminded me of a frat style living, in the heart of Bangkok. Much different environment than ABAC, but it is awesome. So we put on our best tourist costumes and hit the streets of Khao San road... We dont do it often but once in a while you have to get your party on, especially when your living in Bangkok!
So with another week down it only seems like 219871 more until Brianna comes to visit in Bangkok. And that couldn't come soon enough. But teaching is something that i am really starting to like. I feel very comfortable in the classroom and it really is and awesome feeling when a student "gets" it. So im really excited for the remainder of the semester, and teaching is really starting to give a purpose to being here. That is something that i have been not really struggling with, but thinking about a lot, is finding a purpose in whatever endeavors one gets into. So with teaching, the students seem to be improving, and that is such a refreshing feeling, and really making things feel worthwhile.
Because at Loyola, I had no problem finding value in things, and finding a purpose of getting up in the morning. There were set things to do, and things that needed to get done. But here things are a little different, and the goal is a little more blurry. So focusing on what is important in life is key, and always thinking of the bigger picture will help get us to where we want to get too.
Im getting pretty deep into grapes of wrath.... you better not get left in the dust B!!!
To all the memories we have, and to all the new ones that we are waiting to make,
There is no one like you!
Love J
