Amazing Race Theory......

.....We are still going on that trip to Tanzania...

"I think the person that you are with in a romantic relationship should be the person who you feel you could win the Amazing Race with." - Jeff Parsons

The Amazing Race is like a microcosm of romantic relationships. Things start off fast with tons of commotion as you are racing through places you have never been to or seen before. Hopefully you get off to a quick start, and click with your partner, as you are often times out of your comfort zone. But then things aren't too bad for a while. You get off to a nice lead, and have a cushion over other teams, so there is nothing to worry about. Things are fine if you just keep doing what you're doing. But then a few more teams get knocked out, and there becomes a sense of urgency. The challenges become a little harder, and tensions between teammates usually arise. Traveling with someone for an extensive time always brings the little things to the surface. Small issues become big problems. And then there is usually a defining moment in the show, where a team breaks down, and has a really emotional moment. Like they can't do it anymore, or they want to give up, or are so far behind in a challenge that there is no way that they can come back. But they push through. Keep fighting. Realize that they are a part of something much bigger than themselves. And promise to be the best they can be until what they need to accomplish is over. And then it is as if the final challenges are no big deal because they are so comfortable with one another, that nothing can phase them.
I think that if you can travel with someone and overcome "travel adversity" then you are in a very good situation. Brianna, I think that we would kill it on The Amazing Race! with my spontaneity and surprising talent at skill games (i won minute to win it at relay for life 2011) and your cool head and logistical thinking,  I think we would have no problem. Heck we have both travelled around SE Asia, so what could be harder...Europe... NOPE.
So Brianna I think that nothing or no one could stand in our way during the race, or better yet, in life. Let's keep exploring the country, and keep exploring the world. There is so much left to see, and so many great places to photograph!
