Your my Golden Sunshine..

[Verse 1:]
Keep on moving to the first rays of dawn
Keeping it on till the sun moves on
Keepin till the night time all along
On and on- I keep singing my song
I said, this phase is always
Sometimes I get so crazed
But just know that ill always stay
Cause your my light through the haze

[Chorus:]
It's time for a champion
Soothe the soul of the land
Mend the heart from the sea and the sand
Until the sun comes up again [x2]

Reach for the sky
Keep your eye on the prize
Forever in my mind
You're my golden sunshine
Fits raining in your mind
So push them clouds aside
Forever by my side
You're my golden sun

[Verse 2:]
Sunset I let myself down
Found the ground beneath my heart gone
No more words were there to speak
On that day my song was born
Never meant to leave you all alone
Said I'd be your shelter from the storm
Now your clothes have all been torn
Kingdom sacked attacked and dethroned

[Chorus]

Reach for the sky
Keep your eye on the prize
Forever in my mind
You're my golden sunshine
If it's raining in your mind
So push those clouds aside
Forever by my side
You're my golden sun

It's the way of the world
You're on your own
Time to grow and be a man
Want to fly high like peter pan
No more never never land
So lose your backpack filled with sand
Come along now take my hand
We'll walk together- walk forever

Reach for the sky
Keep your eye on the prize
Forever in my mind
You're my golden sunshine
Fits raining in your mind
So push those clouds aside
Forever by my side
Your my golden sunshine

Reach for the sky
Keep your eye on the prize
Forever by my side
You're my golden sunshine
If it's raining in your mind
So push the clouds aside
Forever by my side
You're my golden sunshine

This is a really beautiful song by one of my all time favorite artists. New album coming out soon!!

trust |trəst|
nounfirm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something
hope |hōp|nounfeeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen • person or thing that may help or save someone • grounds for believing that something good may happen

Hope and trust are sometimes used interchangeably. Their definitions are similar, but often times the word trust is used instead of hope. "I trust you man, I know you will be there for me." In this case, trust is used, but this is more of hoping someone will be there for you. There is a chance that they might or might not be there for you.  When you are in a long distance relationship, there has to be a matter of trust involved. Not hope. Trust. Hope isn't definitive and is something we want to hold on to , meaning that when we hope, there is always the chance that what we want will not result.
Trust brings hope to a whole other level. Trust means that you know that what is meant to be will happen. There is something that seperates hoping for something to happen, and trusting it to happen. It is the will of the individual. A strong person who truely belives something will happen, trusts it will happen. They know it will in spite of all odds. Nothing can stand in the way of trust. Not  even 8600 miles. I would call my self somewhat of an optimist. I always think that good things will result, even with no proof of anything. Thats just the type of guy I am. A true believer. Some might call me naive, but i really do look for the best in all situations, and try to make the best of whats around . I would put my trust in the hands of a stranger. I dont know why, but i have never really been biten by my actions. Ive never got screwed over, or been put in a terrible situtaion. Im not sure why, but thats just the ways things have gone. Maybe it has something to do with the way I was raised. Always being surrounded my mottos and sayings, I think has made me become the person I am today. An idealistic beliver. "Treat on to others, as others treat upon to you" Take time to think. Be nice. The Golden Rule. If you smile people will smile back. These are just some of the sayings that have fueled my ideentity over the past 22 years. And I think that having morals based on positive principals has allowed me to be able to trust. Many people have a problem doing this or feel vunerable if they do so. I feel the same way. If you are going to put yourself out there for others, you better expect theat they hold a hand out to catch you. I say that I have no problem trusting anyone, but of course thats an exaggeration. I wouldnt trust any ol' person with my life, or with something that I hold close to my heart. No one would.
So then how can you go about trusting people, and who can you trust? I can trust that the sun will rise every morning, and I can trust that the moon will shine at night. Thats just the way it is. It always is the same. So then can we only trust things and people based on prior engagements? That would make trusting people virtually impossible, because no one is perect and we all show signs of weakness at some point or another. So then I think that trust comes down to a feeling. A feeling in the heart. When you know that no matter what happens that the other person will be there for you. With open arms. When, no matter the situation, that person will hold to a promise and always do the right thing. One of my favorite teachers always said... "Dare to do the right thing" And I think that is a very powerful statement. Because if you dare to do the right thing, then there is room for trust. Trust needs 2 people who are on the same page, and share the same beliefs.

So Brianna, I really dont even need to hope things are going to work out with us, because I know they are. And I can honestly say that I trust you with the world, and I hope you will do the same.

A little girl and her father were crossing a bridge.
The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter:
"Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river." The little girl said:
"No, Dad. You hold my hand."
"What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father.

"There's a big difference," replied the little girl.
"If I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go. But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go."

In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person whom you love rather than expecting them to hold yours...

You're in my Dreams...

All my life
Is changing every day
In every possible way

In all my dreams
It's never quite as it seems
Never quite as it seems

I know I've felt like this before
But now I'm feeling it even more
Because it came from you

Then I open up and see
The person falling here is me
A different way to be

I warn more
Impossible to ignore
Impossible to ignore

They'll come true
Impossible not to do
Impossible not to do

Now I tell you openly
You have my heart so don't hurt me
You're what I couldn't find

Totally amazing mind
So understanding and so kind
You're everything to me

All my life
Is changing every day
In every possible way

And oh my dreams
It's never quite as it seems
Cause you're a dream to me
Dream to me

Off to lax practice now.... more to come later.. love you!

No title necessary.

A very "classy" weekly dinner!
Another classic from the Parsons Vault.
So for a long time, my dream was to meet "the one" in a grocery store. You know.. like while checking out the prices between Tribe and Sabra humus, and trying to find out which one has the best grams of protein / price ratio (yesss I do that in the store) and have a beautiful girl come up from behind, and say "I think you should try the Cedars Organic Original Humus this week, it's on sale " But sadly you can't meet the person you want in a grocery store. Just try asking Brianna, lets just say it doesnt work. But meeting the person you would do anything for is very important. And also how you met them is very important. If you don't have "a good story" when people has you how you met, you are going to seem lame. So having a good "How you met"  story is very important. So I have already met the person  I want to be with, and we have a pretty good "how you got into a relationship story" Here it goes:

Possibly the best dessert I've ever had...
So back in 2010, Brianna and I both decided that the US wasn't doing it for us and decided to take our junior year at Loyola to Bangkok, Thailand. This was a pretty radical decision that would pit both of us over 8000 miles from our home, our families, and everything we knew to be normal.  During our 6 month semester in Asia, while traveling to Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Singapore, Nepal, and Hong Kong, our paths rarely crossed. That was a time for individual growth, and we both did what we needed to do, to get to the places we wanted to get to. Then coming back to Loyola for our junior year, we were settled into a similar friend group, so we did hang out at the occasional party or wine wednesday soirre. Then came the summer. A time to frolic, a time to mingle, and a time to find those great summer loves.  My main man Dave and I had nothing to do for the 4th of July, so we decided there was nothing better to do than roadtrip to Beaufort, South Carolina. We had a couple extra seats in the car so we decide to invite our friends Bri and Hilary. South Carolina was great. We had one of the most memorable trips I think I will ever go on. Bri and I didn't do anything there except to get to know one another, and start laying the foundation to something great that was to come a little later on.
Our "first" Valentines Day
After our friends had "fallen asleep" (clearly passed the F out) we snuck and broke into the neighbors pool, just to feel like a couple of badasses, and spent the night just walking around talking about life, and enjoying the things around us.
Nothing to say about this one.....
Then fast forward a few weeks later in the summer back to Baltimore... We were out at one of Baltimore's coolest bars, The Brewer's Art just having a few of their amazing in house brewed beers. Ozzie's in fact.  And you know when a couple of kids have a few too many and come back and put on "knocked up" it's clear no one really wants to watch the movie.....
So I guess a nice of casual night of drinking Ozzie's at Brewer's Art, lead to a month of courting, which took us from the North End of Boston and one of the nicest dinners i have ever had, to a swim with Hurricane Irene in Bridgewater, to the beaches of Pronvincetown on Cape Cod. It was certainly one of the more fun months I have had in my life. Pure frolicking, with no strings attached. Just a couple of people who didn't know the right words to say to one another and all they could do was Mamihlapinatapai.

Would I ever date someone who couldn't
successfully shotgun a beer?
And Bri.....the answer to the question from your blog from the other day is a 100% YES. What other person would I want to be with and spend so much of my time with and dream of doing the same for so much longer.

You are the one who I look to when times are dark, you are the one I shine with when times are bright.

"Steady As We Go"
I walk half way around the world,
Just to sit down by your side.
And I would do most anything girl,
To be the apple of your eye.

Troubles they may come and go,
But good times they are the gold.
And if this road gets rocky girl,
Just steady as we go.

Any place you wanna go,
Know I'll be next to you.
If it's treasure baby you're looking for,
I'll search the whole world through.

Know troubles they may come and go,
But good times they're the gold.
So if the road gets rocky girl,
Just steady as we go.

When the storm comes,
You shelter me.
And I don't say a word,
And you know exactly what I mean.
In the darkest times,
You shine on me.
You set me free.
And keep me steady as we go.

So if your heart rings dry my love,
I will fill your cup.
And if your load gets heavy girl,
I will lift you up.

Troubles they may come and go,
But good times be the gold.
So if this road gets rocky girl,
Just steady as we go.

Ah
Hold me,
Shine on me.
Oh, shine, shine,
Shine on me.
Shine, shine
Yeah shine on me.
Hey shine.

Beautiful Day in Baltimore!

Today is a beautiful summer day in Charm City..
Get up and have some of the famous B Kelliher eggs, peppers, onions,  and awkwardly skinny toast and get ready to set the day on fire.

As I sit here at my desk grading papers (with my RED pen of course) I can't help but to imagine myself in beautiful Baltimore celebrating this great sunny Sunday with you. I have had so many great days in Baltimore that just thinking about it puts me in a good mood. But the past week or so has been quite a good ride Mrs. Kelliher. But talking to you has made me want to get up, and go exploring and start making this book dream a reality. So save up some money (from your HIGH paying job) and get yourself a camera, why don't 'ya. And then we can make a move on it. I have been having a lot of good ideas for it recently.... so get a camera so we can start shooting!

Don't let today be a lazy sunday..... life is too short for those (when i'm not around) So go and do something really cool/ fun/ exciting today! Go out and see what Baltimore has to offer...

Sometimes the most simple things are the best..

So I came across this photo while cleaning out my computer last night. This really takes me back. So this was the day that we decided to "spend an entire day in bed" which was an item on our relationship checklist. This was certainly quite a day. After making you an omelet and toast in bed (breakfast in bed whoop whoop) We just hung out all day (and I decided to wear that odd hat for some reason) We had  those kind of conversations that is hard to put a finger on what was exaclty talked about, but it encompassed my mind and left me in awe. This was the first time we had spent a tonnnn of consecutive time together, so It was cool to see it play out and just relax. You know you are with the right person when you can have silence, and there is nothing awkward about it. Just silence. Hearing someone's heart beat next to you is one of the most priceless feelings. It is so calming to the soul. There are no worries on the horizon. Nothing matters except the time you are spending with the person you love.
It almost seems like time doesn't exist. You are operating in a realm of passion, where the concept of time has no place. And what made that day so special was the fact that we had awesome time just enjoying each other's company. Sometimes the most simple things in life, are the best. No matter what the situation holds, as long as you have the company of your partner in crime, things are ok. Thats why I love our situation. Just get us on the open road, with a camera (and a good lunch of course... I know you get cranky) And there is nothing I would rather do. Explore the places around us and try new things. Thats what makes us, welll us.

Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.
And if you do this
It'll help you some sunny day. Oh Yah!
Oh, take your time... Don't live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.
You'll find a woman, yea yea, you'll find love,
And don't forget son,
There is someone up above.
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/l/lynyrd+skynyrd/simple+man_20086106.html ]
(Chorus)
And be a simple, kind of man.
Oh be something, you love and understand.
Baby be a simple, kind of man.
Oh, won't you do this for me son,
If you can?

Forget your lust, for the rich man's gold
All that you need, is in your soul,
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

(Chorus)

Boy, don't you worry... you'll find yourself.
Follow your heart, lord, and nothing else.
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

(Chorus)

Baby be a simple, be a simple man.
Oh be something, you love and understand.
Baby be a simple, kind of man. (Fade out)
